    Good times in the Blancos!
Nice to see you hung the whole way. And had friends to go with too.
Hickery and I did the Vermont Long Trail Northernmost section last year and it was the toughest trail I had ever done. We plan to finish it sometime before we get to old and give out.
I know the Whites are tough too.

The guy I was with on most of this trip, Sherpaman, he and I also did part of the northern section of the Vermont Long Trail, although that was about 18 years ago. I have some good memories from that trip, but will never forget all the mud!

Excellent trip report. Envy you the weather you had. I hiked with my Meetup group of about 15 people southbound across the Presidentials a year ago about this time. Remember it was one of the most physical hikes I've ever done but the views made it worth the effort, much as you describe. We were neophytes to the Whites and elected to stay in the AMC shelters. They proved to be an excellent option for us. We are going back next summer. Thanks for sharing.

We were extremely lucky with the weather! Had we started a day later, we probably would not have gotten a chance to do the Presidentials, I wouldn't have risked it with thunderstorms around. The huts were great, I know there is a mixed bag on them, some love them, some hate them, but I didn't see many complaining as they were eating soup and baked goods! I talked with several who were using the huts and going hut to hut, seemed like a great way to experience the area if you ask me. As long as the budget allows, why not!

    Mark,
Congrats on the trip and thanks for taking us along. Impressive scenery, impressive elevation, impressive mileage, but most of all impressive ability to fight through that pain and press on. This will be one that you remember for the rest of your life.
