    Hello from the Smoky Mountains

Good day to all!! It's a pleasure to meet everyone! I live smack dab in the middle of the Smoky Mountains about 30 min from Dollywood .... most have heard of that.
I'm just getting started in hammock camping and am using allot of what is available to me just to see if I like it. ENO hammock, atlas straps, guardian bug net, Wal-Mart tarp, military sleep system for warmth for now, and a closed cell foam pad. I sleep very well with it but finding that the pad likes to wrestle with me in there lol. I've been looking at the war bird XLC and under/ top quilt in the future. Lots and lots of available hang sites around here .... did I mention that our property borders the north Cherokee WMA (600,000 acres mostly wooded).... five minute walk and legal to hang there. Maybe I can get some pics loaded for you.
But most of all glad for this site and the treasure of info here. Too much info for one to go wrong if they want to get into it! Thanks to all.

I'm jealous of you living so close to the mountains. Welcome to the forums!

Welcome from Nashville. I just hung on Mt. Sterling on Friday night and also a couple of weekends earlier. Ate in Newport off I-40 at Monterrey's on both trips. Also hiked the AT over Snowbird Mtn. a couple of weeks before that. Yep, we like your neck of the woods!
