    Complete DIY setup

Having never touched a sewing machine, I decided to jump headfirst into MYOG. So I started with a 1.6 hexon hammock, followed by a .9 xenon sil winter tarp, next comes my UQ and TQ! I gotta say, I read how challenging xenon/membrane is to work with, but I was in no way prepared for how hard it truly is for a brand new seamster.IMG_20180726_202720531.jpgIMG_20180726_203510341.jpgIMG_20180726_202038829.jpgIMG_20180726_202737030.jpg
I'm super happy with how it all turned out.

    This looks great! Congrats.
    I sew things on youtube.
I don’t sew on commission, so please don’t ask. Thanks.

IMG_20180727_100752303_HDR.jpg I pitched it down, looks good.
Total weight of hammock, suspension, tarp, and all lines is around 2lbs.

Wow... great 1st effort & way more ambitious than my 1st DIY project.

    Nice job indeed!

Looks great! I'm impressed with the complexity of your first DIY. Love your location too.

I knew exactly how I wanted everything, I decided to go ahead and build it right the first time, instead of spending more to upgrade later. Only problem is, now I'm hooked and want to make more! I've gotten my total pack weight down to 22lbs for a 3 day trip, I believe after my quilts, I'll shave another 10-15oz then I'm going to look into making a DIY ULA clone pack

Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....
