Lynx underquilt question should I get a 20 or 0 degree?

I知 looking to buy a Lynx underquilt for the ridge runner. I also have the spindrift

I知 planning on using it in spring fall & early winter. I would use a pad for mid summer. My question is the following ; should I get the 0 or 20 degree lynx underquilt ?
From what I read the difference is around 5 onces weight penalty and pack size bag is the same size if I知 not mistaken. From this site I read that people vent the Lynx by loosening the front end providing a gap. Just curious about what others have to say about this !
    Thanks for your feedback

If you camp in 0コ or 10コ then get a 0コ.
A 20コ will get you pretty low but Winter temps can be tricky and folks always want to go lower.
    Get the 0コ Yep...get that.
    Salut.

I壇 say go with the 0ー too. I have a spindrift and a 20ー lynx. I bet you could go from your pad to your 0ー without worrying about venting. You might but the only venting I do is with my top quilt I haven稚 had to experience the need for the bottom but not saying it might not occur. I think you壇 be less upset being a mite too warm than being a mite too cold. Your spindrift and 0ー lynx should be the bees bees when it痴 cold and still functional with the pad in summer

FWIW, I've gone down to -5* in my Spindrift and 20* Lynx. I wouldn't recommend it but I've done it. The system comfortably goes down to about 10* for me. Decemberish through Marchish I'm rocking my 0* in the Whites, though. if you're comfortable with the pad for warm weather then I'd probably go with the 0*. If you're not planning to really deep winter camp I'd go with the 20, forget the pad, and just use the UQ year round. Maybe add the pad in the winter if you're going colder. If I could only buy 1 underquilt it would be a full length 20. I've made it through just about everything the northeast has to offer with it.

If I was in your shoes, 0 deg hands down. I try to plan to have an uq rated 20 deg lower than my expected temps...ie. if the weather Guy says low of 20, I'm taking an uq rated at 0. When it comes to weather, I expect the worst and I'm usually not disappointed

Early winter in Quebec you’d be below zero Celsius for sure every night. 20F doesn’t mean comfortable at 20F. What is that...minus 6? You’ll probably feel chilly spots as you hit freezing. The spindrift will definitely help, but what if it falls to minus 10?
Don’t know if you like to push the comfort limits, but personally I got into hammocking to be comfortable. I have both now;got the 0F one this year because I plan to do some November December hanging.
That said, it is actually noticeably bigger and not easy to stuff. Get the 0F and a bigger stuff sac.

Thanks to all for your replies !

My first idea was to use my Big Agnes Qcore Xl large as a summer pad & have it kink of inflated to 60% . After reading the replies I think that I really need two Underquilts ( a 20*F & a 0*F) . I will first get the 20*F U.Q as suggested by Joshand baron. The 20*F underquilt will be better lighter & less bulky for the 3 seasons use. For summer I will just vented as presented by Shug's video.

I will get the 0*F afterwards . I wouldn't chance it in winter. Yes I do want to enjoy my future snowshoeing treks without any incidents. I guess there's no one do it all underquilt

    Thanks again

I have both and I take my 0 if the temps are going below freezing and I've never been cold. I've taken it down to 5 and was still warm.

Good choice. You'll love how well these fit and the no fiddle is what makes it so so nice when setting up.
