How do you go about it, I am trying to find maps online for the Highline trail in AZ. I just have the big map that shows the whole trail but not one that has connecting trails. Also if anyone thinks of a better trail here in AZ that would be good, just looking to do a 3 day hiking trip with water and everything else near by This is my first hiking experience I usually go car camping and have never done any of this

There are others much more qualified to answer but congratulations you are off to a good start with the 1st step: gathering intel. Research as much as you can with people who have done the proposed trip before, internet, park rangers, locals when you arrive etc. Decide if this is a solo trip or a trip with others. If others, choose wisely so you have similar expectations and hiking speed. If alone, make sure someone knows your proposed route so you can be found. Take an extra day off from work so you aren't under deadline pressure to return which is more important in kayak trip planning since people are more inclined to make poor decisions about weather and seas if they haven't given themselves a cushion about how many miles they can go in a day.
Think 10 times about what you need, make your pack, then think an 11th one, and then leave.
I know in my other post I said I wanted to start at pine, But now I am thinking about starting off the 260 I wont be going until Oct. 22-25 just want to get my feet on the ground and do some hiking In 9 and a half years I will be 40 and I will be retired from my 20 year career the first thing I told my wife is I want to start the AT. right now my base weight is 15.6 pounds I believe. I just wish that I would have started this a long time ago. 4 years ago under another name I was going to do this hike. Drove up to the trail head and took a fuel can out of front seat to be placed in the backpack and bam my backpack broke. I have been planing this trip for awhile and want to get it done
Try the Cabin Loop. The full loop is ~20miles, but you can break it up into smaller loops. There's water and historic cabins along the way.

I just went and looked at that found my old notes on it
one thing you did not say, how experienced are you at camping and hiking in general. Are you an avid hiker and can knock out a 20 miler no problem or is hitting the trail still fairly new?
My suggestion is if you are to do this solo as a 1st timer (which I would not recommend) then make sure you tail has a few bail out points if you cannot make the milage or something happens. As you gain experience and skill then further afield is no issue.
If lacking others to follow your passion is the issue try Meetup.com there is a backpacking group near you doing weekly trips.

First time, do a relatively easy trip. Push to the edge of comfort zone or just a little beyond next time, and so on and so forth.
