VIDEO: Superior Hiking Trail - The Trail Less Traveled

High mileage and warm temperatures pushed me to my limit on a 3 day 58 mile solo hike on the southern most segment of the Superior Hiking Trail. This segment from north of Duluth to south of Jay Cooke State Park isn't backpacked often due to virtually no camping. Join me on my adventure in this video.

Whoa, Neighbors! Cool. I'll keep you in mind. Often my Afton hikes are impulsive without any planning. Just when I have to escape. Might do a couple overnighters there this winter.

Thanks for watching and the compliments!

Very nice man, thanks. When my wife and I first moved north we lived in Duluth/Proctor before coming to the south shore. Loved finding all those areas, one second you're in the "city", the next you're back in the north woods. Particularly around Spirit Mountain or Hartley Park and we were fortunate to live right next to both in the short time we were there. Such a unique experience. Still nice to go back and poke around if we're in Duluth for the day and have the time, even if it's just to walk the train between Canal Park and Fitgers

EDIT: Sorry man, missed that this completed your section hike of the SHT. Congrats! Now you'll have to turn your attention to the NCT and the south shore

Once you're lost in twilight's blue, you don't find your way, the way finds you.

Thanks for a great video! I've never wanted to hike that section of the trail, but now you've got me interested.

I've found boxer briefs to be the best solution to chafing, but to each their own.
