I'm really interested in this, I just requested vacation at work for these dates.
Okay, piles are growing, final grocery run this weekend and some food preps to complete. BACON is on the menu!!
Is it time yet? Are we there yet?
Looks like some new folks signed up, some regulars showing up, hope a few more drop in!!
Can't wait, getting closer....

Yep, those piles are growing here too. I got word from Ed that we have a new addition to this year's kitchen: a monster sized griddle! This opens up a whole new world in satisfying those gluttonous appetites. Think about what could be created: omeletes, bacon, sliders, grilled cheese sandwiches. The possibilities are endless, so if anyone is still trying to decide what to bring or cook, this is at your disposal.
We are a little over 1 week away and ready to kick off the cold weather hammock camping season here in Michigan.
Today was a good day, my vacation request was approved and my new top quilt arrived. Really looking forward to my first group Hang.
Hey everyone cant wait this will be my first group hang. I just wanted to post what I was bringing and hopefully everyone else could to to get idea of what else may be needed. I'll be bringing some cheese trays (pinconning cheese) brownies, bacon, chips and a pop up canopy.
Thanks for the update! Looking forward to meeting you. I got an update from Ed and he's in the process of building a steel, wood fired cooking station for the dutch ovens etc. It's going to be heavy, but will make a great addition to the cook setup.
I'm making my supply run today to pick up bacon, eggs and cheese to contribute to Ed's Omelete supplies, plus pick up a few other things for around camp. Thursday evening, I'll have smoked chicken/brisket for the group with a variety of bbq sauces and a 1 year old frozen Claxton fruitcake. I'm also bringing some big cook pots, a canopy w/walls and a folding table. I've been stockpiling some craft beer, so I'll bring some for sampling.
For those arriving Thursday morning, basecamp needs to get setup and the firepit dug. The property owner usually has a couple of trees that need to be dropped too. Note, once everyone is unloaded, please move vehicles to the parking area so we avoid tearing up the grass.
That is all...time to start packing!
