Just ordered a 50F Ghost Pepper!

I love my Hammock Gear quilts. I figured I'd never buy anything else.

Maybe it was the money from some recent freelance work burning a hole in my pocket...something struck me today. I want to change it up. I want to try something different.

Not for dissatisfaction with any of my HG gear (which is fantastic). Just because.

So I ordered a 50 degree Ghost Pepper with 900FP down and Argon 67 in and out (my next-lightest quilt is the fantastic Burrow Econ 20, and I sleep pretty warm, so I was definitely in need of a summer quilt).

    Now begins the wait.

Please everyone, tell me what a useful, beneficial, good purchase this was, lest I should languish these next 8-9 weeks.

You'll no doubt be pleased. I recently took delivery of my 50° Habanero & it's awesome, definitely worth the wait.

Waste of money, but thank you for keeping the economy pumped up. After a certain point, all these products become overkill. We're out there to camp, not have a gear fetishism.

I don't know that I agree. For me, it's about 70% to camp, 30% because of the gear fetishism.

    Point taken, though.

EDIT: The more I think about it, it might be 60/40.

It's not a waste of money at all. If that gear enhances your camping experience all the better. I'm not heading into the woods to sleep on a rock, I'm bringing gear to make myself as comfortable as possible.
Hanging in the woods, paddlin and catching trout- My kind of living...

I think it's wise if you want a truly lightweight, compact summer UQ. Or you could be rationalizing...

Exciting if the temp takes an unexpected serious dip!

I too have a winter and summer setup. Just didn't want to pack a heavier quilt
when summer hiking. Every pound I save seems to make it a little easier.
