    Much faster.
    True, thanks

Bazza...... you are(were)exactly right.... like your post #59 says. I do better with pictures than words, so now that I reread your post I understand what you were trying to do. The idea with the diff length tails on the tree prussic also solves my poor idea on the second tree that I was unable to solve. The last prussic could simply be a line of about 4-4.5' that has a closed-eye loop on each end. The loop on one end being long enough to prussic wrap on main RL while other end is toggled.

    Have you tried this setup?
I have not put the line to the tree so to speak, it was only my "sudoku"(per Grizz) brain puzzle solution to the challenge. I do believe it would be a good, fast, and light suspension. (yes staub is a toggle picked up on the trail)

The trees are drawing me near, I've got to find out why?

You could solve the Prussic at the second tree by using a different kind of Prussic. Instead of the the traditional loop prussic with 2 free ends, use a single length of cord with fixed eyes on both ends. Hold one fixed eye on the ridge line and wrap the cord around the RL as many times as desired, say 3, 4 or 5 times. Then bring the second fixed eye through the first fixed eye. Done. You have only one free end instead of the 2 of the traditional Prussic. Using the single free end, wrap the tree and toggle the fixed eye back onto itself - just like you have shown for the first tree. You will probably be using 5' or more for the Prussic cord.
Those who sacrifice freedom for safety, have neither.

Allright... This didnt turn out the way I thought it would.

But I think a solution has been found.

I need to mock up the line with the two hole toggle... But other than that, consider the challenge solved.

I have high expectations of incorporating it into the TRL.

fixed loop on one end and truckers hitch on the other, done. no toggles needed. if toggles are insisted on put a toggle on the fixed end. maybe a prusik on the truckers hitch end to tie a slippery half hitch off to just for ease. not needed though.

Karl Prusik was Austrian, not Prussian (or Prussic as it were).

    RL tie-off

    Site newbie here!
I use a 30' Zing it line with fixed loop on one end. it connects to the tree with a stick/toggle and a girth hitch. the other end gets a clove hitch formed around a stick/toggle before it goes around the tree and finishes off with another clove hitch next to the first one. No truckers hitch to untie and no hardware only sticks from the ground! I hope I explained this well. sorry no pics!
