10 feet used to be the standard when I first started hammock camping and then the 11 foot hammocks started to emerge as it was more comfortable because it decreased or eliminated the calf ridge pressure gathered end hammock often create. I still only have 10 foot hammocks but if I were to buy a new set up I'd get an 11 foot hammock and a 13 foot tarp. Width is not as critical but too wide can cause excess fabric to flop around. 55 to 65 inches seems to be the most common width.
Don't let life get in the way of living.

For reference, I'm 5'10" 225ish and sleep fine in a 10ish foot hammock.

Aside from height, IMO the preference of length depends on the angle you like to sleep on while in the hammock. Those who like a more pronounced angle to get a flatter lay seem to prefer a longer and wider hammock. I sleep straight down the middle like a banana so the extra length really doesn't matter that much to me.

Really the only way you'll find out if you're moe comfy in a longer hammock is to try one, it's a very individual experience!

I always had 10' hammocks. Then felt like all the cool people were going 11'. So I split the difference and stuck with 10.5'. Perfect for me at 5'9". 10 still isn't bad. 11' was overkill.

I'm 5'9" and my 11' hammock is luxurious, but 10' has become my default length because 1) it is still comfortable, 2) feel like I have more latitude in terms of where it can be set up, and 3) it is lighter on backpacking trips (have become a gram weenie).

Also the tarp coverage. I know it doesn't sound like much on paper, but every time I set up my WBBB (10'), which isn't often since I usually don't need a bugnet, I'm surprised by how much overlap there is on the ends.

Got the impression most hangers prefer a Winter Palace to the standard HG Standard CF for the coverage. Yet, I got a fair amount of rain on my hike last year, and with a 10' hammock + tarp pitched low, rain was never a worry. Seemed like a lot of fiddle time when using an 11' hammock, making sure there were no surprises. HT Standard is a great tarp with a 10' hammock, but not as much with a 11".

5'9" here! My bridges are Towns-End and I use the medium and the Lixury bridge. For a gathered end, I only use 11' hammocks and have found that I like an in between width. I find 66" and up just simply too big, lots of floppy fabric and more weight than necessary. I find 58" a little too restricting (more so in certain hammock models than others), but I can make the, work. My preference is a 62-63" width. I get a fantastic flat lay, without too much extra.
