Hello everyone,
I haven't seen a lot of Dutch hammockers here. Or Europeans. But here I am! There aren't specific hammock camping spots in The Netherlands unfortunately. And the national forestry camping places are designed for tents (yuck). So finding a spot is very tricky. And wild camping isn't legal here. To make matters worse I live in the north of the country. Known for it's flat and wide open tree'less spaces. So I have to travel to get to a forest.
To try out hammocking I just bought a cheap hammock at first. But I have expanded my gear drastically recently. Some of which has yet to arrive. Because I'm a noob I have bought a lot of stuff twice. First the heavy impractical items, and now the lightest expensive stuff. I hope I'm going to be able to sell some to get some of that money back.
I'm pretty new to hammock camping and camping in general. The first time I tried it, it was great! Not so much at night. I must've slept for 4 hours, being a bit spooked. But like Shug says, eating breakfast from the hammock makes it all worth it. Here are some pictures from that first overnighter.
