My first under quilt was a snugpak, then made my DIY Costco quilts and finally went to the HG Econ 20. My snugpak worked really well yet I wanted to cut down on the weight, lowest that I went with that was in the high 30s. DIY is good but would never go below 45-50, I sleep cold. Econ 20 is too hot above 65. Snugpak seemed to span the temperature better yet was heavy. But I love my HG Econ as it is light and really warm in the lower temps.

i do recommend, researching the materials used and cross referencing them against DIY suggestions for thickness & temperature rating, just to be sure you'll be covered for the temps you plan to experience though
