    Reenforcement material???

I am n the process of building a tent 1.5 person size. I will be using the .93 ounce membrane silpoly for the fly and the silpoly 1.1 pu4000 for the floor. It will be trekking pole supported. I plan on bonding two pieces of membrane at the trekking pole areas. WHat material would you guys suggest for the trekking pole reinforcements. id like to keep it simple and light as possible. All of the diy videos I have seen guys seem to go over board here.

Also what are your guys opinion on membrane silpoly pu 4000 for a tent floor? I am very tempted to use it.

Use the same fabric so it will have similar stretching characteristics. Grosgrain on the edge also helps distribute the load. Just remember the weakest point is at the joint so size it according.

I've done bonded reinforcement patches on three tarps.. all used the same material as used to construct the tarp body. If there is a pattern to the fabric, IE a ripstop grid, alternate the direction of the pattern.
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....
