VIDEO: Back on the North Fork of the CDA River

Back in May we were still trying to dodge all of the snow in the high country, so we ended up back on a trail that I have hiked a couple times before. The trail was in great shape. Because of all of the snow at the higher elevations, car campers couldn't get into this area of the North Fork yet. Normally I wouldn't want to camp at these popular locations, but since you had to get there on foot, we were the only ones up there. It made for a great trip having the area all to ourselves.

We had a couple of great campsites. The one on the river was my favorite.

    Thanks for watching!

Beautiful scenery! I sure wish I lived somewhere that didn't suck. I'd even be happy if it sucked 50%.

That was only the morels he found in that one spot. I think that we may have been the first ones through there this year because he ended up with a whole bag of them!

I love those places where you can get to on foot before the season opens to the car camping folks.
    Beautiful scenery.
And love the attention to detail on the video clips - I got a kick out of the water bottle time lapse.

Looks like another great trip! What did you end up doing with those morrels you harvested?

I liked what you said near the end, about taking a trail for granted because you've hiked it before. That's easy to do, I've done it too. It's a good reminder to always try to start your hike with "new eyes"!
