I did one this morning with 10' of zing-it. I just used 26" and folded it over and did the Brummell, then every 3" and more Brummell, then I buried the tail end. I went to the other end and did the eye splice. I wrapped it around the tree I was hanging under and it works quite nicely. A new piece of gear that will live in my hip belt pocket.
If you prepare for failure you will probably succeed.

A small update for the days when you dont have your tree huggers. Small removable sleeve.

    Now that's a cool project!!

Tac, a few years ago a member started a 3D printing project and it generated a lot of excitement. Sadly it died someplace on the vine..

The idea was a small vessel intended to carry alcohol fuel. It nested inside a standard cook pot. There was a water bottle style screw cap for filling and decanting. The overall shape was donut like so the alcohol stove could sit in the middle hole. I've searched for pics, but can't find it. Might be a great project to take on!

That is AWESOME!! Legitimately just thinking about how to do something like this after seeing someone post that this is how they hang their gear from a tree - I kept thinking that the line needed a sleeve or something to protect the tree.
