Curious Am I alone in being fearful to Hang on my own property in the city?

I guess I have too much time to think. I am housed for a bit. I would love to be Hanging, I use my hammock chair in the day. Night comes and I am just CHICKEN to be outside, Hanging around late at night to early morning.

Bush, deep forest, boat all okay, suburban no way, just too scary. I really hate being a chicken, wondering if any of the rest of our group has the same issue.

I live in suburban DC (No. VA) area and I have a patch of woods behind my home that is common property for the sub development. I hang there all the time...day or night. I just have to be careful of the game trail up there. One night a deer ran smack into my guy line for the tarp Now that was exciting!

I cant imagine what it would be like. I live in a relatively safe town. You can smack the meth heads like skeeters, but most of them are too doped up to care. I could probably hang in my parking lot if it were allowed and have no fear

WOW, I am so out numbered. Maybe I will buy a hand held air horn and if some idiot scares me I will wake the whole neighborhood.

I am really going to have a talk with myself, too nice to be sleeping inside and need to stay close to home for awhile.

    Okay three daring one Chicken.

Game Trail, not cool but could be exciting. I try to be very careful about game trails. At home (Canada) the moose just go, they mow down whatever is in their way. I have observed Elk with what looked like part of a tent on their antlers.

I have a postage stamp yard on a main thoroughfare in St Louis city with no trees. From time to time I HAVE to hang, and if I can't get to the woods, I have no choice but to hang in my little yard in my turtledog stand. The street lights annoy me. The traffic bothers me. The fire trucks (housed a block away) leaving the station wake me... but I do it anyway. It's more comfortable in the winter when the drug dealer down the streets customers aren't shuffling down the alley... but they don't scare me... much. But if I die in a hammock, I will die happy. So I definitely hang in my yard in the city.

The way out stoners are harmless.

I am leary of people of the night, possums falling onto my hammock, not too sure what the nuteia do after sunset. Ricky Racoon stays away from people as do the coyotes. Spiders are a whole issue in a different category.

Mostly I guess the people and critters that live in large metro areas.

I find it odd wilderness I am okay, more than okay--great.

I'd be fearful of being stacked and attacked by the suburban cougars.

When camping in the back yard, I don't see much but raccoons, skunk, rabbit, possum, deer and the occasional fox. A few years ago, I did have a drunk run (more like stumble) through my back yard while I was hanging. He must have known the neighborhood because my property is the only one without fences (or worse, swamps). Poor guy crapped himself and vomited - left the underwear behind! I always wonder how it's possible to get that high - when you crap yourself and have to use your underwear to wipe yourself!
