Wink How about this for an inexpensive suspension system?

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...HPAQ2IF7&psc=1

Hey, what do you folks think of this complete suspension? Even has continuous loops of Amsteel. I'm thinking of pairing it with a Dutch 11' 30.00 netless, for a sub 50.00 learners setup. Weight is not an issue.
In the overall scheme of things, this would be my mid range modular hammock, adaptable to other accessories as needed.
At the bottom of the food chain is my Eno, fortunately bought for a song, including Atlas straps. The hammock was basically free, and the straps were pretty well discounted, lol. Camp chair and general lounger duty.
Once I have a better grip on what works for me, for my upper echelon ride I'll look into a netted wonder, like a Blackbird, Trail Lair, or Chameleon.

    Three should do it, right?

    Right?

I can see where this could lead...

Never heard of them. I personally avoid buying anything hammock-related from Amazon.

On paper the suspension looks OK. I guess it will work if saving money is your primary objective.

They look like they would work, if the buckles don't slip. However, I see no advantage to these over the ENO Atlas straps that you already have. Just order a couple of amsteel loops for your hammock from Dutch when you order the hammock, along with a couple of lightweilght biners. Connect the continuous loops to the biners with a larkshead and hook the biners to the Atlas straps. Should be just as light as the Amazon setup and no worries about slippage. That is the setup I generally use. When I want to cut weight I have some Kevlar straps from dutch that I use instead of the Atlas straps.

Well, I could see deploying both hammocks at the same time, so I'd like a setup for each.

Just check on HF who else bought this suspension - I see one review from 2015 and very few comments. So you won't have the benefit of buying a tried and true product that many others on HF have bought. This is probably just a Chinese company selling ENO knockoffs - there are a lot of them. The Amazon buyer is usually looking at price, and if that's all you care about, go for it. If you're looking at customer service and quality, then choose a cottage vendor like Dutch, Whoopie Slings, Wilderness Logics, etc., who have been doing suspensions for a while.

I'd guess that's the standard ubiquitous steel buckle. No problem there. Is the CL of amsteel properly spliced? Maybe. How strong is the webbing? Probably enough... The stitching appears to be fine. Probably. The straps could be considered a bit short by some. You could order essentially the same suspension (installed) for a few bucks more and be assured of the quality and great service if there ever were any issues at all. Not sure if shipping is a factor.

All good points. A setup from Mr. Dutch might cost double the Amazon one, but that's 15 bux...no big deal.
