Reviving this thread as I have a question on this and no one seems to mention it on any of the superfly vs other brands threads. Isn’t the base length (length between ground tie outs) longer on the superfly? This never gets mentioned but it’s a significant difference. From what I have found, the baseline length on the SF is 91” vs 72” on the WD11. If so, then the tarps aren’t really all that similar. Correct me if I’m wrong?

The baseline length for the WD11 is 160". The distance between the baseline center guy outs is 72". Then 44" on either side to the door guy out. So 72+44+44=160

Yes I’m only talking about the distance between the ground tie outs. 91” vs 72” is a pretty big difference in coverage that never really gets mentioned when someone is asking about the differences.

Oh, I see what you are referring to. Interesting, 72"/6' seems short for an 11' ridgeline.

I guess the reason I brought this up is: 1) Because I wanted someone to confirm my numbers in that they are indeed different. And 2) to educate the folks on here who consistently say there isn’t any difference other than the options from UGQ. This isn’t fair to the OPS asking as the UGQ is basically the same dimensions as other winter tarps from Dutch, SLD, etc. However, the WB SF is quit a bit better in coverage. Lastly, the reason I went down this path is because I kept wondering why pictures of the SF showed that is was so much bigger despite the widths being virtually the same. The ground length is the difference and it’s a big one.
