Who else is ready for cold weather??

Got up at 0600 hours this morning and it was already 84F with 89% humidity. It is now almost 1700 hours and it's 98F with 56% humidity. There is just no way I am going camping in this weather!

So when is your next camping trip scheduled? Mine is in October in the mountains of WV. Going with a group and will most likely take a hammock stand/hammock for camping. I can't wait for the cooler weather so I can stand to be outside.

As much as I hate the extreme heat and humidity I would rather deal with hot than cold....but a nice mid point would be wonderful, low 80s with no humidity would be great

Five straight years I've gone blueberry picking in the Pine Barrens in July and August. It is usually very hot - highs about 95* F and lows around 70* F. However, I'm going blueberry picking with my beagle Joey this weekend and it looks like we might luck out - the high is projected to be 79* F with lows around 57* F.

Only fresh blueberries can get me out in hot weather!

I usually avoid going out in June and July mostly for the bugs but in this latest wave of humidity I wouldn’t go anywhere but my pool or my air conditioned house. I’m a Spring/Fall/Winter camper with the odd car camp in late August with the family. Hoping to go on a canoe trip in late September.

I like all weather, but my least favorite is high heat with high humidity, the only cure for that is AC or a cold river.

I’ve spent many a summer in the 100+ realm, one where it was even 135 in the shade (150 on the tree outside our tent) and I didn’t have much of a problem. My favorite camping trip was one this past January where the night was 2 and the high GOR up to a blistering 28.

But these mid-Atlantic summers of 90+ with 80% humidity are just killer. I’ll take the heat, just send the humidity somewhere else.

Sounds amazing. Wish I was around to join you! I'm still in Virginia with the "feels like 109" weather.

I'm so looking forward to late October. My hanging season is getting shorter and shorter each year as things heat up faster and stay hot longer. About 6 months is all we get in this vicinity and then the overgrowth, bugs, and heat take the outdoors over. Then it's boating season,

I am just the other end of the scale.

I tell folks I ride my motorcycle 3 seasons. It is just my 3 are fall, winter, and spring. I can put on more clothing and heated gear to stay warm but at some point when I am taking off clothing to get cooler, the cops get involved or people go blind!

I notice we were getting a break in the heat over the weekend. I will, for sure, get the motorcycle out but camping is not gonna happen. Too many family things.

Blue berries are the bomb. I can understand how they would entice you out.

I thought about taking the kayak out for an overnight trip but if the heat don't kill me the bugs will suck me dry!
