    I didn’t know about the bending instances. Are you referring to the positioning, the orientation, or both? I understand the point of positioning the clip like Shug explained in the video above, but there’s another thing to consider.

    I would assume it would be best to point the gate to the sky, right? Just like with a biner, the further you place the force away from the spine the less load it can hold. Hence the angled shape, to keep the rope or strap close to the spine. Given how the straps angle down towards the ground, it seems like it might end up settling into a suboptimal configuration if you point the gate down.

    This was the test with my DIY GE Hammock. Next I will test with my Ridgerunner. I do not foresee any problems.
