A farm lacking hangable trees? Now that's a total bummer..

You live in an awesome spot! I've been out in the water in front of your house about a million times for work and play. Rockfishing, studying the grasses, duck hunting, largemouth bass fishing. I'm jealous that you get to live there!

I have found that 75° for the overnight temperature is too hot for me.
Most of the winter I spent outside in my hammock but once a fleece liner became to hot to use as a TQ I started sleeping inside.

There are plenty of trees where I'd love to hang, just not in proximity to the house and head for the kiddos and wife. That area is surrounded by a couple hundred yards of tobacco fields before you get to the woods. Then it's a lot of loblolly pine, so chiggers and ticks. The best time to hang there would be after the first good freeze, or in the hardwood section a good half mile from the house. We're taking baby steps, but we'll get there!

Chiggers are really only a problem early in the season, no?

Depends on where you live and each individual year. I’ve had them bite me anywhere from May thru September in Texas if memory serves me correctly.

It's midnight, 84 degrees w/ 70 percent humidity and there isn't a breath of wind. I've set up outside but it's just too muggy. Summers' heat hit Kansas the first week of June this year, we can usually go well into June or even into July before the extreme heat settles in. Good enough for midnight ride right now, but not good for hangin'.
