Ozark Trail Hammock Stand - Anyone?

Has anyone tried the Ozark Trail Hammock Stand? Here are the specs on it:

Universal frame fits most hammocks 9' to 14' long
Strong, rust resistant steel stand is easy to open and close
Includes a carry bag for easy storage
    Product weight: 28.6 lbs
    350 lbs weight capacity
    Open Dimensions (inches): 128" x 27.5" x 38.2"

What peaked my interest is the fits most hammocks up to 14' long and the weight. Obviously not going to carry it on my back but could work out well for base camp, hotel stays, or even in a rental home where you can't install permanent hanging spots. Also would need a way to put up a tarp if using outside but that is doable with a couple of long poles.

Anyone try one of these yet? Thoughts?

Ozark Trail Hammock Stand - Anyone?

Just read a couple reviews on walmart.com , and it's not looking good. I'll be interested to hear a hammock forum members first hand experience with it, but I don't think I'd be willing to try it based on what I saw and read.

Short quick review as I have not had much time to mess with it as we have family over.

It is short! Like real short. I have my 11' Dutch hanging from just the loops and am about 24" off the ground before I get into the hammock. Once I am in the hammock I am about a foot off the ground. Hang it's self is fairly comfortable. I do have a bit of a calf ridge line but very little.

The stand is rock solid stable. No movement or wobble as I get in/out of the hammock. It is built like a tank but if it is 28 lb, it is the heaviest 28 lb I have ever picked up!

I have a couple of HH I am going to try on it as they are much shorter. I also have a 12 footer I will try but I seriously doubt it will work at all. More to come as I get more time to play.

Maybe good for a 10footer then?

Now I am very curious as to how it will work with my WBBB. It would be great for car camping or those Scout camporees where there are no nearby trees

I was think about maybe good for my MIL. I have paid it forward to her with a hammock I have that is 10ft. It might be easier for her to use a stand than to try to get a suspension up on trees
