    Help with Tent pole pockets

I was wondering if anyone could help me find, and or how to make tent pole pockets. What I am trying to make are the pockets like Clark uses to spread out their hammocks. I'm also looking for a source for similar style poles, maybe a bit stronger though.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks Joe

You don't have to do too much. I just recently did a mod to my tarp to add this. I bought a thrift store back pack (for the Cordova material) and cut 4 patches that were 2.5"-3" wide and 5"-6" long. I rolled the hems in on this and double stitched the "pocket" to conform to my tent pole diameter (.344"). Then sewed the pockets into place after checking the positioning.

    Not Pockets

You can buy Beastee Dee Rings, cut the flat end with side cutters, slip onto your pullout material. Pole mod ends will fit nicely into the opening in the Beastee Dee Ring

I’ve always had trouble posting pictures, either too large or silly small thumbnails.
The Beastee Dee Ring (Nylon), has two parallel sides, one round end and one straight end. You cut the straight end right in the middle. Most tarps have gross grain loops or some other material for tie outs. Some only have the loops, others have split rings, triangle's and some even come with BDR.
You take the tie out material and insert it into the cut opening and thread the BDR onto the tie out material.
If your tarp has hardware ie; split rings, triangle’s, make sure you install the BDR to the bottom of said hardware, that being closer to the inside of the tarp. The ˝” size is made to order to hold a pole mod end.
    Good luck…

Thanks I think I get it now. Earlier, I was confused by the cutting of the BDR.

I think I have found what I was looking for. A pen light holder looks about perfect and the belt loop part gives plenty of room for attachment.
