Thanks for showing the V method also.
I have done one of the tarps mimicking the Superfly grosgrain reinforcements and a small grosgrain loop with good luck also. My superfly has been through some high winds and performed well. It also uses no reinforcement patch.

Do you even use the V-method for the ridgeline tie outs? I keep going back and forth wether spreading the force or keeping the force in line with the ridgeline seam is more important.

I do use the V even on the RL to no ill effect.
    Good luck,

Right on! Thanks. I think I'll attempt this. Also, is there varying strengths of grosgain? Or is it only dependent on the width?

At any width, IMHO your best bet is to buy the vy high-quality stuff from Dutch; however, if you need to buy some locally off the shelf, just make sure it is 100% polyester premium ribbon from a reputable US manufacturer, like Offray or Schiff.

I just finished my first tarp and I didn’t realize that the tarp was sandwiched between the grosgrain ribbon. I just ran both sides on the same side of my tarp with a box X. I took my time on it and it’s frustrating to know that I messed this up.

In my opinion you didn't mess up- my tarps have the grosgrain sewn on one side and I've had no issues. Sandwiching the tarp might be a bit stronger though- I don't really know.

The part that I have not gotten any better at is lining up and centering the grosgrain for the corner tie outs. I am sandwiching the tarp and corner reinforcement with the grosgrain just as I have seen several times just like on diy gear supply. But since you are blind to one side What is an efficient way to line up the 2 pieces and also keep them straight?
I had more success pinning in place first and then hand cranking the machine stitching a perimeter around the tie out then bar tacking top and bottom lastly sticking the "X"

I should also state doing it this way makes ripping out mistake MUCH easier as I had lots of trouble putting in a goisgain ridgeline over a flat felled seam that was 12' long
