There is really no scenario all the TAD POLE tarps will be the new fabric once the silnylon is gone we are offering both till this happens.

Dangit! I knew I should have waited...those options weren't there a few weeks ago! But, it's all good. I'll just tell myself it's lighter without the plastic bits.

You can always send it back for upgrades anytime.

I also got notice that my tarp shipped today!

Very interested in this new polyblend Tad Pole as my first tarp, but a bit hesitant due to the lack of reviews/feedback. Anyone here have impressions and experience to share about performance and durability? Photos would be great too!

Full review coming soon. I've had this tarp in hand for a couple weeks now, but haven't been able to take it out just yet (and no place to set it up at home). Planning to get out with it this weekend.

First impressions: Very well made, and packability seems pretty dang good. It packs down to about the size of a soft ball in the stuff sack provided with it. As for the material that everyone is wondering about, it feels a bit smoother in the hand than the silnylon that my Superfly is made of. A bit more shiny as well. Really looking forward to getting this set up and getting to know it better. Then I'll be able to say more about it. Stay tuned.

Sorry but I haven't been able to get out with it just yet. Like Scarecrow above me said it is very well made like all of Marty's gear. Packability is incredible, my 12' tarp in stuff sack packs down to the exact same size as a 16 oz Ice Mountain bottle of water. It weighs in at 11.6 ounces for a 12' tarp in it's stuff sack with side pullouts and tri loops. I hope this helps.

I have not camped with mine yet, but did manage to set it up while hiking in a local state park. Very impressed with the build quality! The material doesn't have much stretch to it, but this is my first "real" tarp, so I can't comment on it in comparison to sil-nylon or other materials. It's much more spacious than I was expecting.

I'm planning a trip the weekend of Sept 14-16, so hopefully circumstances allow me to use it in the field (not sure if there will be adequate trees where we'll be camping - Lake Frederick campground near West Point, NY) and I'll be able to provide a more detailed review.
