Spider 1.5 webbing now available at Dutchwaregear.com

I sill improving the assortment of webbings we offer. I think we have by far the widest assortment of Hammock suspension webbing. Our newest Spider webbing made out of UHWMPE has been reworked form the ground up. It has a specially tight weave and the weave will prevent some of the rolling issue when putting it around the tree. Here is the biggest thing. It comes in at about 1.5 grams per foot. That makes it about half the weight of a whoopie sling. This is may best one yet. And of course you can get it in huggers and straps. It has a spec of 1000 pound breaking strength and we have tested this batch to 1200 pounds. It is not recommended to work with buckles. It didn't slip on the buckle but it did fail at 600 pounds so using it as a hugger, becket hitch or marlin spike hitch is an excellent way to go. To identify it, it is all black with one thin gold strop running down the middle. In short, you are going to love this webbing. I already have thru-hikers out testing this webbing and it is holding up great.

In the top section it states Spider Web 2.0 and that this has a 1500 pound breaking strength and is 2 grams per foot. In the bottom, it states 1000 pound and 1.5 grams per foot.

We are going to stick with no hardware as a rule for these thin webbings. Spider/Polyester works great witht eh Spiders.

    Thanks Dutch.

I got the Spider/Poly webbing already, but new stuff never hurts.
    Plus I love the color!

The naming scheme here might be a little confusing to new comers. Since software has started to popularize the use of version numbers to indicate the age of a product and which one is superior. One might conclude that Spider 2.0 is better that 1.5 for example. Just saying.
