There is parking available for an additional ¥500 yen.



I went here last year with Tiger and Kumagg. Place has plenty of trees to hang from and the caretaker is very easy going.

From what I can tell, reservation is not needed and you pay as the caretaker comes by later in the day. I will give him a call a few weeks before with a rough headcount.

There are outhouses and a coin operated shower but no vending machines. Campfire and BBQ is ok. The place is very close to the Katsura river (桂川) and have seen people camp there to go fishing.

There are no strict check-in or check-out policy.

I plan to get there around 10am and chill and socialize on day one.
On day 2, I'm thinking of scouting a nearby route and probably leave late morning. I'll gladly change my plans if others want to go hiking as well.

If anyone is planning multi-night trips, I can share some waypoints of a good site.

I'll try to get there by 10, 10:30 the latest. I'll try to buy some firewood from the caretaker and lug it to camp.

I can bring firewood as well. No need to have to carry it if you are on foot. I will be driving so it is much easier for me.
