    Wall Shelf?

I just noticed a Wall Shelf listed as a Trail Lair option. Anybody got some additional description, experiences, or pictures of this?

Here's the text from the TL page: "Optional Wall Shelf attaches to ridgeline and angles along the net wall of your hammock to attachment points along your net edge. 18” x 16” with two pockets, one full length across top half of shelf and one divided along the bottom half."

Haven't noticed that option. Jared is coming out with new stuff that's simply light and fast. Anybody else notice the monster sized "Base Camp Tarp"?

I asked Jared about this before ordering my latest. This is how he described it to me:

It angles off from he ridgeline down one side of the hammock to the
zipper. It can go on either side, but works best on the side you sleep
with your Head on. It sits about a foot to foot and a half in front of
where your head is, but can be adjusted along the ridgeline somewhat in
    either direction to your liking.

    And he sent this picture:

I went ahead and ordered one, so I'll get some more pictures when it comes in.

Tracking says that it'll show up tomorrow. I'm honestly not sure what to expect either, but I figure I should be able to remove it if I don't like it.

Sounds cool. Two questions I'm thinking of are: 1) How does the bottom attach near or to the zipper, and 2) is the bottom connection all the way across, or just at the corners...if it's somehow across the whole bottom of the shelf, you can just toss or stuff jackets or maybe even TQs between the shelf and the wall/bug net, and it won't fall out at the bottom...but I can't make my brain envision how it would connect to the hammock.

That’s very interesting! I love how Jared is willing to try new ideas out. I just had him build me a custom gear sling for my ridgeline that I thought of and it’s on it’s way to me at the moment.

So, it's a big RLO that clips back to the side of the hammock/net?

My Trail Liar came in today! It's fantastic, as one would expect from Jared. Unfortunately, I have a graduation party to head out to, so I couldn't take a ton of time taking pictures. I snapped a few that will hopefully show what the Wall Shelf is, but they're not anything that would be used in promotional materials. I'll get some better pictures tomorrow when I have more time.

The Wall Shelf is pretty much exactly what Gadget guessed. It's an extra large ridge line organizer. What makes it different, and in my opinion genius, is that there are elastic straps coming off of the lower corners that attach to small D-rings that are sown into the net at the zipper. This keeps it running parallel to the net and out of the way while allowing it to be large enough that I don't foresee needing any other storage in/on my hammock. It also keeps everything about even with your chest where it's easily accessible. No reaching up and craning your neck to find what you need. It's too early to call myself a huge fan, but I'm pretty excited about this.

Here are my quick and dirty pictures of it hanging in my unphotogenic basement:

As you can see it doesn't extend all the way down to the zipper, but I was able to tuck a CDT between the elastic straps and the net and keep it off of me but within easy reach.

That's pretty nifty. Thanks for the quick look-see.
