Bwahaha. I can relate to your way of thinking.
I wonder if pole pockets inside the hammock body as like pole mods with a tarp are done would work?

Why don’t you share a pic of the parts you have in mind? Another idea is to take inspiration from external pole mods that we use on tarps. It would take some brainstorming to figure out if and how that would work. Seems like it would be safe for the netting, but then again, maybe that would run into problems hitting your tarp like the bars on a bridge hammock.
What worked? I was just thinking of trying some of the strong plastic banding that has replaced metal straps on pallets. Would take a couple feet and make a bowtie shape so no sharp ends and then tie center to ridgeline.
Check out what this guy did with coat hangers. It reminded me of this question when I saw it.

I have a Walmart Hammock that has short fiberglass poles at the top of the bugnet that keep the net off the user's face. They slip into sleeves and the ridge line I installed runs under them. There are also guy lines that run from the tips of the poles to the connection point of the suspension. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Equip-1-P...-Kit/772138074

I do believe I now have the solution to this "non-problem"... I will try it out this weekend while my rig is set up at the lake... pix may follow if success is achieved!

I used a blow-up dolphin toy and some velcro in by backyard once. I used the velcro to attach it to my ridgeline. I used the dolphin because it was longer than wider. A small blow up rectangle or cylinder would work better than that dolphin though.

A pool noodle or pipe insulation, the foam stuff. Bulky to pack but it is only a few ounces.
I like refried beans. That's why I wanna try fried beans, because maybe they're just as good and we're just wasting time. You don't have to fry them again after all.
