Hammock Gear Incubator Econ vs Incubator

I am preparing for a late fall trip in the hills of Tennessee and as I'm evolving my gear I have started looking for an under-quilt. I am strongly considering the Hammock gear econ incubator but if the standard incubator is miles ahead of the econ I will pay the extra. Does anyone here use either of these under-quilts? Or can anyone recommend another under-quilt around the 200 dollar range? More expensive quilts would be difficult because I'm buying two, one for me and one for my wife.

If you're buying two, you can't go wrong with a couple of the econs. By all accounts, the econ quilts are still made wonderfully and perform fantastically compared to the regular Incubator.

Thank you, I'm very excited to move way from my crinkle pad to an under-quilt.

In comparing Premium vs Econ regular length 20° Incubators, there is only a 3.75oz weight difference. I have underquilts with both Argon 90 and Ion fabric; and I have to say, the Ion has a nicer feel in my opinion. The Argon 90 may be a little more durable. But the Ion seems plenty durable to me; and if you take decent care of your quilts, you shouldn't have any issues with it. The quality of construction between the two will be the same. My choice would be to go with the Econ line, and get a top quilt too!

Thank you, I plan to get a 0 degree under quilt and a10 degree top quilt. Both week 2oz of over fill, I think for the price it's the best option for 15-30 degree camping. I already have a thermal pad I plan to still use in the cooler weather...
Is the 2oz of over fill worth it though?

I'm not sure you need two oz. overfill in Tennessee. Even the 0* UQ and 10* TQ sounds like overkill.

I guess I'm a bit gun shy, my wife and I were camping when the polar vortex hit a few years back.. She hasn't wanted to go in the winter since. I may skip the 2oz over fill..

If you're car camping, get the overfill. If you're gonna hike more than a couple of miles, it will be hard enough with a 0* UQ and 10* TQ.

We're hiking so I might go with both at 10 degrees and no over fill. I have my pack down to 28.6 with good and water and my wife down to 26.3 with good and water. So hopefully we can handle both 10 degrees items.

I own both the standard and econ Incubators they are both great. The only difference is the Ion fabric and a tiny bit of weight. For the money you can't go wrong with the Econ. If you're not venturing North you should be fine with 0* UQ and 10* TQ. I wouldn't opt for the over stuff unless you are a really cold sleeper.
    Good luck. HYOH
