[VIDEO] Solo Overnight on Knobstone Trail

Got out last Thursday for a little solo overnight adventure. I got back on the Knobstone Trail and did the Leota-Elk Creek section as it was the next section going North I hadn't backpacked yet. This was a tough little section! I know I'm not in the best of shape but that section was just brutal Wore me out enough that I was out before dark and didn't even wake to water the bushes in the middle of the night Had a lot of fun on this trip and can't wait for it to cool off a bit so I can get back out there and do it again!

Thanks for posting... funny about being startled by the wild turkey. I've had the same thing happen to me.

The turkey and I both got a wake up call funny thing was it's path of escape was further down the trail so it must have thought I was after it for sure

Thank you for sharing! I like your set up! I considered buying the carbon fiber spreader bars for my Ridgerunner. Would you say they were worth the investment? I currently use my trekking poles, but it would be nice to have those for porch mode.

For me they were certainly worth it. They only weigh about 5oz and free up my trekking poles for porch mode. Porch mode is my favorite and is definitely worth the 5oz weight penalty.

It was great to be back out. Needed the time to myself. I'll be doing more solos once it cools down. The woods are medicine to me and I've been feeling a great need for it as of late.
