    We did one at Barker Lakes on Boulder Mountian and the second one was at Flaming Gorge.

    Both were fun trips but hard to get much of a good sized group together even with hundreds of folks hanging hammocks up and down the Wasatch front.

    I recently slipped into the rabbit hole after the Mrs. got me a Chill Gorilla hammock for Christmas, for camping with scouts. Won't ever go back to the ground, if I can help it. Just ordered 600' of 1/8 Amsteel (I'm a fat dude) so I can finish my chain-link-fence-top-rail-tensahedron stand (once I learn how to splice continuous loops). Yep, happily there's no escaping for me.
    Enjoying my fall into the rabbit hole...

    @fivefreds, Thats awesome!

    I wonder if more people would come to a hang if it was more of a saturday thing, rather than a full blown campout? Just so we can all get together for some food and show off our gear and such.

    I don't know about the rest of you, but Summer weekends fill up fast for me especially Saturdays. What about something in the fall? It seems most of you other Utahns are around the Salt Lake/Utah county area; it's not too far for me, but I'm not familiar with the camping around there.

    Ya, summers really fill up quick. A fall hang might work. For me personally, my fall is full of college classes, might have a Saturday free to get together.
    As for camping up this way, there are some designated campgrounds in the canyons. To get away from those you have to travel a little bit. But there are places we could go. For sure, the best bet would be to go up a canyon. I think for most of them, you either have to be in a designated campground or a certain distance from the road.

    I'll show up at a hang pretty much anywhere in state, but I'm not gonna HIKE in to one. Not my thing.
