    Mini Fly with WB RidgeRunner?

    Hello,

Anyone have the Mini Fly and RidgeRunner from Warbonnet? How does it work? Does it provide enough coverage for rain (not concerned as much with cold weather) or would it be better to get the Cloudburst or ThunderFly and just accept the extra weight?

cloudburst is intended to be paired with the ridgerunner. iirc the side pullouts are positioned to be in line with the spreader bars to give you the best chance of not ramming them thru the tarp, heh

I use a RR with a Cloudburst and they work perfectly together. I would much rather have my gear perform well than save a few ounces. (I need to lose many pounds. A few ounces in my pack don't really matter....)

Thank you very much for your comments. It sounds like the Cloudburst is the best one for the Ridgerunner - I was just wondering if everyone used it.

Check out Shug’s video on the Mini/Thunderfly tarps. Pretty sure he covered that FAQ.

    Mini Fly with WB RidgeRunner?

I have the WBRR and the Cloudburst tarp. I have had them out twice now, but I am having trouble rigging up the tarp. I am using Lash-It for a continuous ridgeline. I don't know if that's a good idea or not or how to best attach it to the trees. I don't know particular knots so I have just tied it off randomly. I would appreciate suggestions for doing better than that, either with specific knots or hardware. I have been running the ridgeline under the tarp; there's a ring on either end of the tarp at the ridge line that I am not sure what to do with. So far I haven't found any specific instructions for rigging the tarp, so any help would be much appreciated. I also have two spreader bars for the tarp and don't know how to best rig them up so they can be adjusted.

    Mini Fly with WB RidgeRunner?

I removed the two split rings from my CB and larksheaded Dutchware “Fleaz on a leash” in their place.

I have two 12 foot lengths of lash-it with a Dutchware hook on one end, that is what wraps around the tree. The free end then goes to the Fleaz on my tarp.

If you haven’t watched Shug’s videos you should check them out. He covers tarp rigging, along with everything else you need to know about hammocks.
