Using 2" Webbing with Beetle Buckles and Spider Webbing

Howdy. I'm replacing my old suspension with Beetle Buckles on 15 feet of dyneema Spider Webbing ,but on occasion I will need to use 2" tree straps to comply with TX state park regs. Is there a way for me to use the 2" webbing on the tree and attach it to the 15' dyneema webbing while still using the Beetle Buckles to hook up to the CL on my hammock?

Could you larks head them together or use carabiner to join both end loops together?

If joining both different straps together with a knot, a slipped zeppelin bend is fantastic.
Zeppelin bend is shown on Grog knot app.
And for slipping it just pass a bight through both sides. This will not jam and holds great.
If you can’t tie a slipped zeppelin bend, the zeppelin bend is highly resistant to jamming also.

And if you have trouble learning zeppelin bend,
tie a knot you probably already know————
    Marlin spike hitch (slightly modified)
For this one use a Strong Toggle no twigs.
Hold both straps parallel in hand as if they were one strap. Tie a marlin spike hitch with both straps at same time and insert strong toggle.
It’s best to tie this with two inch strap on tree.
You will face tree while you tie it just like you do for a hammock whoopie sling or continuous loop.

As you know, marlin spike hitch does not slip and does not jam—-super easy to untie.

Seems to me that you could get some 2" tree straps, larkshead one end of the spiderweb to one end of the strap, giving you one long strap with the 2" tree strap on one end. Wrap around tree, pass the long end through the 2" strap's loop, send to hammock.

Thank you for this. I suspect I'll be able to larkshead them together as the 2" huggers appear to have loops on both ends. Now I just need to find out if Dutch's orange straps weigh less than the propylene offering.

Some tender barked trees don't stand a chance with 1" wide straps. I gladly take the weight penalty by using 2" huggers with Dutch daisies larked to them……. Your trees will thank you and won't drop a w/maker on you at night
