    Croatan National forest hammock camping

Going down to New Bern, NC next week to work on my boat and get it in the water. It will actually be my new home in the New Bern Grand Marina. Looking to hang a hammock and camp rather than spend $100+ a night on hotels. I know it will be hot, muggy and buggy but I can deal. I'm hoping Gunner Chimes in and helps direct me to a place with some trees. Or if anyone else has any idea's shoot them my way.
    Thanks
    Phil

I have hiked and I am a member of the wildlife club that maintains the Neusiok Trail in the Croatan. Yes Gunner would be best to answer that question. He does maintain a website for the Neusiok Trail.
    Straight out of Clayton.

Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.

We camped on the Neusiok Trail in May.
You could camp at North end easily. Would not want to leave my gear there all day though.

The driving force this time of the year in this area.

Where I took Shug is about a 5+ minute hike from the parking area at Pine Cliffs Recreation Area. It has trees for two to three hammocks and is about 100 feet from the Neuse River.

Phil...I am sending you a PM
