Smile Sleeping bag for indoor hammock?

I'm hammock sleeping indoors. I like using a sleeping bag, and don't want to try top and bottom quilts. The bag I have is rectangular, with the standard 32-inch width, so it falls off the sides of the hammock at the foot and head ends. Is there a sleeping bag that's designed specifically for use in a hammock (narrower at the head and foot?) I really don't like mummy bags or slippery linings. Is there a barrel-shaped bag with a lining in cotton or a similar fabric? If not, is there someone who offers custom-made bags?

    Thanks!

Unfortunately, I think an underquilt is the best option. As long as you have a proper UQ, you can use just about anything on top indoors - wool blankets, sleeping bags - whatever!

I like a sleeping bag because it stays put - a quilt could fall off me.

It's warm in my room, so I don't need an underquilt. The problem isn't keeping warm - it's that I like sleeping bags, but mine is too wide at the head and foot areas.

Not sure if I understand correctly how you're using your sleeping bag. Do you zip it closed? Does it fall over the sides while zipped up? Or do you use it open?

I use semi-rec sleeping bags instead of top quilts 90% of the time, and mine only ever falls over the edges when I use it in top quilt mode. I have tried a standard sized top quilt and had trouble with closing all the gaps. But I believe this was mainly because it was too narrow for my needs. Nowadays you can buy wide top quilts as well.

You could ask Feathered Friends if they would make a custom bag for you. That won't be cheap, though.

Top quilts aren't flat like a quilt for a bed. A top quilt stays put because it has a foot box to put your feet in and hold it in place. Top quilts are like sleeping bags with less material.

I just use an unzipped mummy bag as my top quilt, and I use it indoors and out. It stays in place just fine, and has a 'footbox' that doesn't squish my feet.

Another great option for indoors is just using an unmodified Costco Down Throw (CDT). It's lightweight, and stays in place well enough through the night.

isn't that exactly what a mummy bag is?

if you're looking for a hammock quilt, the top quilt is what you're after
