Can you tell us more about the tarp connection, or show a close-up picture of it?

Hey thejsf, here...sorry don't currently have a close-up but the tarp is connected to the End Cap holes.

Tarp attached along the rail from the ends using a Continuous Ridgeline

Thanks. So, you pass the tarp ridgeline through the end caps and then what? Dutch wasp/hook to tension the ridgeline? How do you connect the tarp to the ridgeline?

    Continuous Ridgeline

or just Connect/Tie tarp line to end cap holes instead of a tree.

Ultrarunner inspired me! I went to Lowes last night after work and got all the parts and pieces and put together my own hammock stand. I christened the No Tree Hammock Laboratory and Testing Facility (NTHLTF) last night. Looks like we'll be getting some cooler weather over the next couple of nights here so I'll get to put my new 20* TQ/UQ to the test!

Thanks for the write-up and pictures. Made putting it together extremely easy.

Not all end caps are created equal. Some of them are fairly weak. I'd be tempted, at your size, to hang directly from the pole and use something to tether the suspension to the end cap to keep the suspension from sliding inward. Maybe a short loop with a 'biner on it.

Hello, is anyone else having a problem with their hammock ridgeline becoming too slack after adding it to the stand? I initially when out and set mine the way I wanted it before building the stand now it doesn't seem to work for keeping things out of my face. Truth be told I actually prefer not to use one but all my add-ons require it.
