Black Silnylon available $3/yd

Just ordered 10 yards of black. There was a $5 cutting fee. He said if he can fit it in a priority mail prepackaged box, it will be $5 to ship, if he had to box it and send UPS, it would be $10-12. Either way I am getting 10 yards of black silnylon for under $50.

They also have silver/gray available. I almost went that route, thinking the silver would reflect the sun and keep me cooler. As long as I am not actually touching it, the black should do just fine al will blend in better.

This sounds great. I'd think 10 yds without the roll would go into a priority mail box,

Is the silver/ gray also at $3?

PKT - all of the 1.1 silnylon (1.3 with the coating) is $3/yard. I made the mistake of not asking for it off the roll.... so most of the shipping weight was the heavy cardboard tube.

Thanks for the tip Trout! I too ordered and got the roll by default - over $17 for shipping on 10yds. Will definitely request it boxed next time!

Good tip. This will be my first tryout with this material. Think I'll start with
a stuff sack and work my way up to a tarp.
How Hard can a tarp be? Two rectangle sewed together! I'm still using Opie's
Etowah 12x10 tarp it's a 1.9OZ urethane coated nylon, modded and it works fine
but is over 32oz. I'd love to have one of Brian's but he's just too busy with his school work and that is a good thing, it shows me he has his priority's in the right area

Plus when you get this DIY stuff down there's a sense of pride in the accomplishment.

No, I got it for $8 and some change. Still not bad. I did ask them to take it off the roll for me, but it still wouldn't fit in the prepaid box.

They shipped it UPS. In my experience, smaller packages usually ship cheaper USPS, but I wasn't going to ask them. Someone who was willing, might ask then to ship it USPS and save a couple bucks?

I received the invoice paperwork Monday (not sure why they sent it separate), and still no sil. Seems like UPS ships a little slower than the Post Office, too.

Mine comes tomorrow ... little bummed they also charge five dollars to fold it ... oh well even with shipping it's a good price per yard.

Can anyone tell me what colors they do have available. At that price I might have to make a few tarps, one for each season. So far I have heard black and gray.
