Yikes. Yeah, you're going to want to do a 6x10. The tarp you made already should fit most 11-footers though.

Eh, I'm going to follow the instructions Dutch has about an Asym tarp.
4 Yards of the Xenon Sil Wide should do the trick, that'll be 13ft corner to corner, should be plenty long enough!

    Good job..

Mistakes will happen. Hold onto the first tarp as a day/emergency tarp..
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

Yeah I still have my first tarp. I don’t know why I’ve even kept it around. The design was horrible. But you can always make stuff sacks out of the extra material. I have a hard time throwing failed projects away.

Yes follow the instructions. Longer in an Asym tarp causes issues. Diamonds and asyms preform well when you get the tarp right on the ridge line. Im messing around with anchoring one end to the hammock suspension and the other end gets a heavy loop of shock cord to keep tension. The asym wide that Dutch makes shines in that you can add or change coverage to combat the weather by changing the tie off/anchor points. I really like the flexibility it offers.
I like refried beans. That's why I wanna try fried beans, because maybe they're just as good and we're just wasting time. You don't have to fry them again after all.

This is definitely a good suggestion. And if you're into DIY, you can get good deals and make your own quilt.
