Sorry for generalizing.. I don't consider the ridge tie out points 'corners' so, no not at the ridge line, ever. Well, I shouldn't say that.. I did use shock cord on the RL tie out when making a single line suspension that hung both tarp and hammock on the same line..

Shock cord at all ground corners including doors where applicable.

I guess even after 6 years doing this, I can't really understand how you don't make a V after wrapping cordage around a tree. It just happens. Call me dumb...no don't, I already did.

Dutch hook? I've been using Dutch hook and Wasp for several years and there's no V with a Dutch Hook. I suppose you could make a V with a Dutch Wasp.

The “V” gap in tarp guyouts for suspension to run through

It seems like any mention of hanging your tarp from the ends instead of a single ridge line gets bogged down on whether it solves a problem with all the suspensions rubbing together. That wasn’t even a consideration for why I chose the method.
The problem it solves for me is giving my tarp a nice taut hang, with an easy setup (to explain to others using my tarp) that deploys very quickly.
Nothing against folks using a single line. I’ve used it in the past, and still argue there isn’t one tarp suspension method that rules them all. But it does bug me a bit that folks pick one supposed benefit to this method they don’t agree with and throw out the rest.

I also find it makes for a quick and easy setup, that's why it's my preference. I've tried various continuous versions and find I like how quick centering the tarp is using guy outs in place of the ridgeline. I do like to use Dutch goodies for the ridgeline guy outs. I like the fly's and wasp for this application. I've also used prusik's and S-biners and sticks when I felt a little crafty. I prefer the Dutch gear for those though.

I'm still exploring whether I prefer the split lines or a continuous. With multiple tarps, it means multiple sets of lines assuming I want to leave them on the tarp. And since I am using mini ucr's to tension things, it's helpful to have the line threaded through the end ring. Haven't gotten to the point that I want craft multiple sets, so I don't leave the set I have on the tarp and this makes deploying them a bit more work than with a single continuous line. If I decide the rest of the benefits outweigh the negatives (right now I am thinking yes), I'll make another set for each tarp. That said, the V isn't a benefit I am going after for my hang.

Wouldn't one side still have the V though?

I like the split ring concept for simplicity as well as having the lines more easily separable for setup/storage however I find myself missing the V a lot too though. Any Ideas? Thinking of upgrading to stingers so they can be clipped onto the split ring but still allow the V to. be utilized.
I use Dutchware zing-it line and a wasp. Love it and very light.
