Ok, that makes more sense now. Might want to change the bit that says "ultimate nylon quilt material" on the P2F ARGON 15D page

If they are intended for longer trips, the calendared fabric makes sense as it would help you keep track of how long you've been on the trail. Though most people probably have a calendar on their phone.

I would think a printed pair in Hexon 1.0 or 1.6, with its wonderful feel, would be just the ticket.

I think they key is to remember that these shorts seem to be designed as minimalist ancillary gear for thru-hikers, not as day-to-day trailwear.
It was explained to me calendered in wind resistant vs. Non calendered is breatheable. Not accurate? My hexon shorts weigh an ounce or two and size of racquetball. Was steered towards non calendered because of breathability based on feedback they'd got from they hikers. Is this accurate? Haven't worn them hiking and haven't used calendered to draw from experience in this case

I'm +1 on some Hexon versions...
Do they have the crotch gusset for climbing/ stretching comfort?

I was thinking of buying a few pair for Christmas gifts. But then I thought maybe Dutch's legs would be even better. Wait for it. They'd make great stocking stuffers.

If they are available in p2f perhaps a few map prints? Only problem there would be every time we got lost my wife would be checking out my backside.
