Seam sealing: Seam Grip + SIL & Silpoly 1.1?

I am asking before I continue. I can't find any concrete answers other than people saying to use silicone sealer on PU coated fabrics, so this makes sense to me.

    What I have:

    1.1oz Silpoly tarp
"Silicone impregnated (coated both sides) / with sil/PU coating"

    Seam Grip + SIL
"Seam Grip SIL, a silicone seam sealer previously known as Sil Net"
"Self-leveling silicone-based seam sealer. Ideal for use on silicone treated products or silnylon fabrics"

    Make sense?
Test on scrap. Pitch tarp in backyard. Seal both inside and out of ridgeline/corners, don't worry about rolled hem?

Correct. Seam Grip SIL, previously known as Sil Net is what you want to use on your tarp.

Yuppers. You could also use Permatex Flowable silicone. I find it easier to apply and it's available at brick and mortar stores.

How fortunate this thread is for me! I'm sitting here with my first hammock and silpoly tarp and a tube of McNetts Seam Grip and planning on tackling it tomorrow. Just to ask the dumb questions, by 'rolled hem', you refer to the edges of the tarp? My tarp has doors so I assume the same for them (seal the seams but not the edges)? I also have pull out patches and understand they need a good going over, too? Is one tube likely enough to get the job done?

All of the above makes sense but it seems foolish not to check with someone who's done it before. Thanks.

MAKE SURE that what you have is specifically made for silicone-coated fabrics! You may have the stuff that's made for PU coated fabric, and it won't work on silpoly.

Sorry! Silpoly is what I have and McNett Silnet Silicone is what I have to put on it. My mistake.

    I got what you meant.
I was trying to add to the facts of what product a reader of this thread may need to decide on.
Not all products are Sil coated.

Yes by rolled hems I mean the edges, which for me I rolled twice on itself and sewed shut. No need to seal them though.

Edit: What I don't get about the 1.1 Silypoly is that it says "This fabric is coated with a silicone/PU layer on each side and is waterproof/non-breathable.". So which is it? silicone or PU coated?
