So, I picked up a Blackbird XLC from Warbonnet on the way to the mountains on Thursday. Not having much time to mess with the set up, I adjusted the hang according to Warbonnet's instruction and hoped for the best.

About midnight I climbed into the hammock for the first time after enjoying an evening of Colorado snacks under the stars. The comfort was immediately apparent even with the quick set up. I'm not one that sleeps well outside but enjoyed 7 hours of quality sleep. The next morning it was even more comfortable after some fiddling with the hang. Whatever the fabric is makes for a soft, supple lay. Combined with the foot box and flat lay makes the Blackbird quite something to experience. Build quality is top notch and I have no regrets about spending the change on this one. I look forward to hooking up a new Wookie my next trip out and see how much better it gets!

Great review and gutsy to "try it out" for the first time at midnight. Didn't leave yourself much room for adjustments there.

Yeah I'm glad it worked out. The underquilt was not adjust correctly so that contributed to a chilly sleep. But so did the Colorado Kush so there's that

Thanks for the comments folks. It is a fantastic looking hammock. I'm picking up a 0 degree Wookie on the way to the mountains this afternoon and look forward to being toasty in the cold rain at 11,000 feet tonight.

Lived in Colorado Springs for 10 years. It's probably for the best that I didn't know you could just swing by the shop and buy stuff.. all of my camping trips would have become much more expensive!

For sure! They prefer to ship but it's great that you can buy online and stop by and pick it up. I'm in Golden so just 20 minutes down the hill. It's getting spendy but, man, what great stuff!
