I thought I'd better clarify before I head out that we only had one or two nights in the 5 degree range.
I didn't mean to give the impression that North Texas stays that cold.
Most of the "low" temps have been in the upper teens /lower twenties.
I have actually sweated a few times when the temps aren't low enough and I had just a bit too much clothing on.

Lazy River Road, the word "tactical" is so abused now that I was halfway joking about it.
I say halfway because I do want these mods made and I shot StormCrow a pm today with a generic description of them.

Tactics are inanimate actions and strategies, but today you have "tactical" watches and tactical pants, flashligts etc.
Even my pistol has the word "tactical" stamped into the slide ...although I'm not quite sure what makes it so.....tactical!

Oh, and only in HF would someone actually be impressed that I don't sleep in my house like a "normal" person...trust me, no one else thinks it's "cool."
If only the rest of the world were as enlightened as the HF members! ;-)

in these days of homeland security etc, "Tactial" is nothing but another marketing ploy. as is the proliferation of camo colored gear/fabric/clothing und so weiter... unless you have a need to go unseen amongst the woods, then it has a true purpose.

We can call the incubator "tactical". Just don't get called an assault UQ, or else it will be banned!

Exactly. And used in that manner, I find it insulting to the men and women that are actually out there, putting their lives on the line. It has the effect of trivializing their efforts and sacrifices. OG out.

    Hey everyone,

It's been a while since I've been online, and I've spent more time with my Incubator, so I thought I'd post a quick update.

I have used it daily, since receiving it from StormCrow, and I gotta say I LOVE my Incubator!!!
I did not waste my money.

My Incubator got me through the record low temps we had last winter in north Texas ( I know, I know, Texas doesn't get cold!) and has kept me warm every night since moving to southern Oregon in August.
I now live in the upper Applegate region of Oregon and I'm definitely glad I brought my UQ with me!

I haven't unhooked my UQ from my Claytor No-Net since the day I discovered that I can just slide the whole thing over my head and tie it to my SLS with paracord.
This allows me to adjust in increments when I need to vent, or I can pull it up on the side and use it as a wind deflector, while venting on the bottom.
Lazy, yes, but it works for me.
I live outside full-time, so keeping my hammock/UQ together as a single unit is just one less thing I have to do when rolling up.
I drop my hammock every morning and not having to separate the hammock/UQ system means I get to eat that much faster, etc. :-)

Sure wish it had some pockets on it as I use it as a catch-all sometimes, and chunk all kinds of light stuff in between the Incubator/Hammock.

I inspect my gear daily, and this UQ still looks like it did the first day I got it.
    Quality workmanship and materials.

I'm really looking forward to testing the Incubator this winter in the upper Applegate!

I'll post pics when it starts to sleet/snow.

    I highly recommend StormCrow's Incubator.
Warmth is not overrated my friends!

    Happy hanging!
