UQ suspension touching my head drives me crazy, any options?

I have used a wooki for most of my hammocking experience and recently purchased a 3/4 quilt and a couple other quilts for my wife. The other day I hung my hammock with the 3/4 quilt and the shock cord was touching my head when I laid down. I figured how could I get this wrong it's a piece of shockcord going to the end of the hammock. So I got out and looked at it and it is set up properly, but when I lay my head touches the shockcord. It drives me totally bonkers. Obviously I have never had that in the wooki because of the way it is made. When I got home I looked at pictures of others and sure enough, many people's heads are touching the shockcord. Let me clarify- it's touching the shockcord through the hammock.
Is this normal? Is this a problem for anyone else? Is there a solution? Am I just a maroon?

I have the same experience. I would say it is pretty normal. I do have two suggestions:
    1. Get a wider UQ. The edge will be higher above your head.
    2. Get an UQ with a clew suspension. The suspension doesn't run along the sides of the UQ. Instead, is connected only on the ends.

Either loosen the main suspension on UQ a wee bit or slide it up a bit more towards the head end.
    May help.
    Carry forth.

The easy fix is to buy a triangle thingy from Arrowhead which will move the suspension lines away from your head: https://www.arrowhead-equipment.com/..._Thingies.html

I did kind of the opposite of what most suggest in regards to the secondary suspension. I loosened the head side and loosened the foot side and it seemed to allow a bit more room for both my head and foot (so they didn't rub up against the cord). This goes against what most people suggest (tightening the head and foot side) but makes the UQ a bit less restrictive for me. Might be worth a try?

Had to go check out the link to find out what they were really called, didn't expect to discover the product's name is actually "Triangle Thingies". Pretty cool idea :

This is normal and one of the reasons I quit using side channel suspensions. You can try fiddling with it but it wil always be there. A Wookie, clew suspension, or spandex suspension would avoid the issue but would require either your time or money.

My suggestion if you can not try the above....just try to tune it out. I realized a couple of years ago that I kept trying to achieve a lay like a bed at home. In reality, my hammock was perfectly comfortable but DIFFERENT. I had to just make up my mind to look forward to my hammock as a comfortable night's sleep with its own traits and quirks.
