    tarp tie outs

What is everyone's preferred method. Currently using ti peg stakes with 6' zingit larks headed (secured with a half hitch) to it with a shock cord loop larks headed to the other end . Connection to tarp is with nightize mini resin binner (key size) from shock cord to tarp tie out. When I put it all together was a simple system but adjusting length requires additional knots to shorten. Looking for other simple ideas. ???

I was learning to use my whoopie slings before they were taken. Till I got them I just used a plain jane set of straps, and tie outs for my tarp

    tarp tie outs

30' zingit crl like Derek Hanson's version with two mini biners and a prusik for suspension seems to work best for me suspension wise. mainly wondering about other options for tying out stakes without a lot of hardware options. not that I don't like hardware just appreciate simple basic setups and I tend to lose little extra parts.

I just larkshead some Zing-it 1.75 onto the tarp, then marlin spike hitch onto the stakes. I find no need for shock cord, biners, hookworms, silkworms, tarp worms or anything else on my tie-outs.

This is my current setup. I upgraded my Chill Gorilla tarp with Dutch's crl (Dutch hook and wasp). For tie outs I bought Dutch's tarp worms with yellow reflect it. Much simpler than what came with the tarp (guy lines and plastic tensioners). Light weight and super simple.

I'll use these a while and then experiment with others.

I use 1mm dyneema with a loop attached to the tarp with larks head. Then use my stake as a Marlin spike at the ground.
My cuben & spinnaker tarps don't need further adjustment. My silnylon tarps have a shock cord loop at the tarp (self-adjusting).

I use something like this with a continuous ridge line with some Dutch bling.

Method varies depending on where and when I'm pitching it. Winter is vastly different than Summer. Thick young forest is much different than open country.

Generally, I use Dutch Stingerz on Reflect-It to tie out the ridgeline on all my tarps.

I use Tarpworms on shock cord on my silnylon winter tarp because it does stretch when wet. I keep lengths of Atwood Micro Cord with my stakes, each one with an overhand loop at the end. 99% of the time where I hike I just tie out to trees/branches by Larksheading the cord around the tree or using a timber hitch and going through the Tarpworms. If I need a stake I just drop the loop over the stake. If I need a longer cord, it's easy to tie two lengths together with a square not by using the loop on one and making a loop at the end of the other.

I generally use y-stakes (aluminum) since most of the area I hike in has a lot of loose duff on the surface and thin stakes just don't hold.

Where do you buy your 1mm dyneema?

    I use that one

But I'm interested in tarpworms with shock cord from Dutch.
