    2" Dyneema huggers

With the rules in some areas requiring 2" straps around the trees, I've been thinking of adding a pair of short huggers to my kit. Being weight conscious, I would like them to be as light as possible. Anyone know if any company has started making 2" huggers out of dyneema webbing? Dutch's kevlar straps come in 2", but nothing in dyneema/UHMWPE anywhere I've seen.

I do plan on sending them an email to ask the weight. Might end up passing on them due to the price being high.

This feels like a thing that will suddenly come into existence if you say "Dutch" into a mirror three times...

For anyone interested, they got back to me and said the webbing weighs 0.01lb per foot, so .16oz/4.54g per foot. Still pricey for a small order so maybe Dutch, Ripstop and/or Myers Tech Hammock Gear will start producing them.

Note that this is heavier than the Dutch 2" Kevlar, but would have higher UV resistance. If only the spider webbing came in 2"

    2" webbing options

Been thinking of adding some 2" tree huggers to my pack just incase. Looking over all the options I've been wondering if/when the UHMWPE and spider web will be offered in 2" The kevlar straps seem nice, but I'd like something more UV resistant yet not as heavy as the other options. There is currently no one manufacturing 2" dyneema huggers/straps. You can find 2" dyneema webbing from some sailing sites, but it's expensive and weighs more than the kevlar straps. Added to that you have to do the sewing yourself. So.... 2 weeks?
