    half-zipped vs chameleon

I have about 6-7 Hennesyes (original, Explorer, UL Backpacker, Safi, Jungle that I have been using for the last 15 years kayak camping. All of them have the zipper. or zipper mod.
Since I am Kayak camping, weight is not an issue, In fact I love the 70D hex tarp.

After reading/watching many reviews, seems the Chameleon is universally praised for its flat lay/comfort and am thinking I may need one? I cant get truly comfortable in the HH.

I don't "lounge" in my hammock and never have and will never need to fully remove my bug net, we pull off the river 30 min before dark, set up camp, make a fire, eat, sleep.
I DO require a double layer for skeeter protection.
    I am 5'-10", 180#

Is the "Half-Zipped" the same sixe/shape/body as the "Chameleon" ?
Does the "Half-Zipped" have the same tie-outs and UQ hooks/loops?

Any advantage of the Chameleon over the Half-Zip ??

    Thanks,
    Slack

Yes it does. I just got mine in today and picked up the chameleon side shelf thing and peak shelf for it. It has hooks and d rings all over in good positions. This is my first dutch hammock and I'm a bit woo struck. The best analogy for it is that feeling you got as a kid when you received your first swiss army knife. I find the lay extremely flat and comfy, I'm 6' even and 200 lbs. (argon 1.6). I can really say with comparison to the Chameleon size though I've never lain in one. Same here I picked it to save a little weight as I always need a bug net, or at least 85% of the time.

I've had both. While I cannot put my finger on it as to why, I am somewhat more comfy in the Half Zip....As I mentioned in another thread, the Chameleon was 1.6 SL and the Half Zip is 2.4 SL, but even beyond that, I like the Half-Zip better...The folks at Dutchware did tell me that there are some differences in the patterns, but did not elaborate....

It still is and that is a very popular fabric. I think you may have been looking at the half zipped wide.

Do you mean I can get chameleon options for my half zip?Yeah,I didn't know! I have an 11 foot half zip in Hexon 1.0.It's a little stretchy but I find it very comfortable.
