Anyone use one of these? I almost picked one up today @ the Army Store.
I think it weighs less than 10oz.

"...in Florida, she felt air conditioning for the first time, and it was cold and unnatural upon her skin."
I bought one the other week just for that purpose. mine was OD green though.. I liked the idea of it double as an emergency blanket along with it being a ground tarp.
FWIW, tyvek can and does the same thing at a fraction of the cost.... "Free" if you know the right people, all you have to do is run it through a top loaded washing machine a couple times and it takes the crinkle noise right out..
Same as this, but green?

Almost an extra pound for a ground sheet ? A piece of 1.6 nylon ripstop that's been water treated works just fine too, cheap to buy by the yard and easy to hem and a whole lot lighter. You can also get it in just about any color you want including camo. Tyvek will work but it's a lot slippier a lot noisier and really white :>) I took a 2-foot by 3-foot piece of ripstop, hemmed all four corners ran drawcord through the corners, it works decent as a ground cover pack cover and gear hammock and weighs like two ounces.
By all means, let's argue about whether or not a hammock will hurt a tree. All the while ignoring the fact that there is an island of garbage the size of Texas floating in the Pacific ocean. Or how about the fact that over 75% of the world's nuclear reactors are leaking...
I bought one today. I am going to lay it in my UQP and see if 4-6am is a little warmer on my backside. It won’t take much. It’s a very slight chill.

Looks like a large version of the old Space Blanket. The Space Blanket is smaller and lighter though.
Sure looks like a vapor barrier to me - expect condensation.
