I like some features of the HF advanced search, but have been bothered by the inability to search for 3-letter words (e.g. -"dog") and acronyms. My solution is to save (bookmark in Firefox) a Google search for "site:hammockforums.net". Then if I want to look for something I open the bookmark in a new tab and add the search term(s). It seems to work pretty well.

There used to be a heading up top called Helpful Hammock Articles that had the glossary and acronyms right on it but since it disappeared I think it's gone.
